The Philippine president announced this in a leaders' summit of indigenous people with about 900 lumad leaders and elders.
"If you will not allow mining in your areas, then we will not allow, " added President Duterte, as quoted by Inquirer .
Moreover, efforts to look for investors willing to put capital into ancestral domain and develop lumad areas would be exerted.

The project is said to give priority to lumad agricultural land affected by rebel insurgencies, as pronounced in the gathering at a regional military camp.

This is certainly a good news for the lumad people. May the government continue to support their fight for their basic rights in their ancestral domains.
