Handwashing Made Fun @ Safeguard Handventure Land in Eastwood Mall

It's a 'Family Weekend' this coming Saturday and Sunday for the folks around Eastwood City in Libis as Safeguard opened the Handventure Land right in front of Eastwood Mall to emphasize the importance of handwashing with soap.

In a recent Germ Transfer Study conducted in China by Safeguard, one child was able to contaminate more than 50% of his classmates in less than an hour of outdoor activities with the other children. This shows how germs and bacteria can easily transfer from one child to another even in regular circumstances.

Do you wash your hands before eating, before handling food, after using the toilet, after touching pets, and after playtime? These are exactly the messages Safeguard Handventure Land intend to share. The 'playground' features different activities and games for children designed to encourage washing of their hands after the above-mentioned activities, most specially after playing.

"Based on a recent study, many mothers prevent their children from playing outdoors because they are worried about their children's health and safety. Safeguard encourages children to engage in outdoor play, as long as precautions, such as proper hadwashing with soap, are observed," shares Maro Torres, Brand manager for Safeguard.

Opening & Launch

Earlier this morning, the Safeguard Handventure Land opening was graced by representatives from Red Cross, and special guests led by Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte.

In her speech, she thanked Safeguard for the advocacy of cleanliness through handwashing which reached hundreds of thousands of school children to date. She expressed her hopes that the efforts would reach barangay children in Quezon City as well.

In line with the upcoming 6th Global Handwashing Day on October 15, the Safeguard Magic Foamer was aslo unveiled during the launch. This reinforces the GHD efforts of reaching out to children's imagination by making handwashing "more fun"! The Safeguard Magic Foamer does this since the liquid soap is naturally more "foamy" when used.
