The Sound of Music Hits Manila!

Good news to all the fans of anything SOUND OF MUSIC- may it be the book, the musical or the movie - the SOUND OF MUSIC musical is now in Manila!

Last October 14, 2011, I was lucky to have been invited as one of the participants of the special press launch of the well-love musical hit. This means, myself, along with the renowned media reporters and writers will be sitting together in the magnificent Newport Performing Arts Theaters and watch the SOUND OF MUSIC. Oh what fun!

How can you say no to this kind of theater?

The awesome performers that night were lead by none other than Ms. Joanna Ampil who played the role of Maria Rainer and Mr. Audie Gemora who played the role of Captain Georg von Trapp. Something worth looking forward to is the appearance of Atasha Muhlach, daughter of Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, who shall be playing the role of Brigitta von Trapp - the sharp-witted girl of the von Trapp family.

Ms. Joanna Ampil’s alternate, Cris Villonco, was also asked to play the role of Maria Rainer.

Big applause goes to Direk Paul Soriano for taking charge of the awesome background visuals that received countless “ooohs” and “aaahs” from the viewers everytime there’s a change in set. The background visuals, along with the superb performances of the actors as well as the props and of course the music, made this musical worth watching.

The Sound of Music Musical started last October 15, 2011 and will be playing on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8:00 PM, every 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturdays and 3:00 pm on Sundays. Ticket prizes are at P1,000 (balcony), P1,300 (deluxe), P1,700 (premiere) and P2,000 (VIP) available at the Resorts World Manila Box Office and all TicketWorld outlets.
