VM Joy Belmonte supports Mayor Herbert Bautista in his efforts to improve security in Quezon City including installation of more CCTV cameras in Quezon City.
There is a plan for a 100-percent CCTV coverage in the barangays. I understand the CCTV project is being done phase-by-phase, so we will push for it,” says Voce-Mayor Belmonte.
She highlighted that full CCTV coverage will help watch all 142 barangay streets. Their efforts actually begun in 2010 including public schools, city government offices, public places and along major thoroughfares and secondary roads.

Moreover, the city government has also implemented an ordinance requiring all business establishments to install CCTVs on their premises. CCTVs installed by the government are either linked to the command center at the city hall, the Quezon City Police District or the respective barangay halls for constant monitoring.

Furthermore, the CCTVs were concluded to be useful in managing traffic and responding to road emergencies along accident-prone secondary roads and along major thoroughfares.
