High Heels No Longer Mandatory!

This is definitely a good news for the ladies! Are you tired of wearing high heels during works hours? Then this is for you!

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello signed Department Order 178-17 last August 25, 2017 which prohibits employers from requiring female workers to wear shoes taller than an inch.

The DOLE order states that high heels are no longer mandatory in workplaces and women can now opt for either flats or low-heeled shoes which are definitely more comfortable to work in.

No more fatigue and back-pains from standing for hours with high heels! Good-bye varicose veins, good-bye tiis ganda, and good-bye sore feet! And to add more comfort, employers are also required to provide seats for women to use during breaks and rest periods.

It’s time to say hello to shopping (you have the perfect excuse to get that new pair!) and hello to the perfect work shoes! Just make sure that the shoes you choose are in line with your uniform to avoid committing a fashion no-no.
