Junior Chamber International Hosts 5,000+ Delegates

Junior Chamber International (JCI) - Manila is hosting the 4-day JCI Asia Pacific Conference from May 26 to 29, 2011 at Sofitel Plaza Hotel.

The area conference is one of the biggest events in the JCI community bringing together delegates from Asia and Pacific, plus some from the Americas and Europe. It is a 4-day event that will filled with all kinds of activities that will promote camaraderie among JCI member .

Junior Chamber International (JCI) is an international organization of young professionals promoting positive change within the community. JCI-Manila is the chapter that started it all in the Asia and Pacific region .

JCI was established in 1947. Did you know that their first ever project was to clean up the City of Manila after the WorldWar II. And since then JCI-Manila has done numerous projects that helped the community.

Last May 25, 2011, I was invited to be among the media who covered  the JCI-World President’s PRESS CONFERENCE at Sofitel Plaza Hotel in Panay Room , which started at 3:30pm.

At the press conference the JCI world President Kentaro Harada (Japan) told the members of the press that this conference is one of the best opportunities for them to exchange ideas and goals for future impact . He also said that in Manila , JCI will continue to promote Active citizenship, the need for positive change and how fellow JCI members can help lead communities to a brighter future.

The president also encourage JCI members to attend all the seminars , workshops and  group discussions because by actively participating to all workshops only they can help the JCI in their mission and vision while gaining also the skills that will require them on how to become the leader of their community needs.

This year also JCI manila will hosts the Asia pacific conference for sixth time , the most in any chapter. The countries in support to this are Japan, New Zealand, Korea, Hongkong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, India , Mongolia, Thailand, and Australia.

The members of JCI should also be on the look-out for seminars for personal development, while for business networking , companies will showcase their products and gain international exposure in these 4-day trade exhibit at the SMX Convention Center.

Jci members can also look forward to fellowship celebration  to be held the end of each day.

This year’s conference theme is BAYANIHAN: Life in the Global Community. Among the traits that JCI intends to showcase to region at this year’s conference is the following traits:
• LIFE -“Meaning and purpose to human life”.
• GLOBAL -“The brotherhood  of man transcends the sovereignty of nations”.
• COMMUNITY -“Service to humanity is the best work of life”.

JCI conferences like these is considered a “big’ tourism boosts since 5,000 delegates from its member countries will be here to see the beauty of our beloved country, the Philippines.
